CAPITAL DISTRICT MASTERPLAN

2000 AIA New England Special Citation Award
2000 Northern New England Chapter of the American Planning Association Award

The Capital District Master Plan is intended to unify city and state interests, and to promote cooperative planning efforts for the city of Montpelier, Vermont. The plan defines a build-out of state office facilities for the next 25 years, creates an overall plan for a greenway along the Winooski River, and defines the opportunities and a concept for a transit facility and Capital Welcome Center to serve business, legislative and other needs. Largely the product of a public participation process, the CDMP addresses economic growth, development pressures, transportation, the natural environment, and the dynamics of Vermont society.
